Talon is a codename used by assassins working for the Court of Owls, a secret society that has controlled Gotham City for centuries.

The most well-known Talon is William Cobb, a highly skilled acrobat and assassin from the 19th century who was resurrected and brainwashed by the Court. He first appeared in Batman #5 (November 2011).

Cobb's genetic history is revealed to be connected to Dick Grayson (Nightwing), who was originally intended to be a Talon himself.
